Troopers: Wrong way driver on NYS Thruway was intoxicated

State Police say a Canandaigua driver was found to be intoxicated, and arrested on felony charges after driving the wrong way on the New York State Thruway in the Town of Brutus.

Troopers say they were conducting a traffic stop when a vehicle passed dangerously close, and then proceeded to turn around further down the highway.

They say the vehicle, operated by 44-year-old Hailey Hill, of Canandaigua came dangerously close to hitting other vehicles.

Hill was charged with felony DWI due to a previous conviction, and refused a breath sample.

She was held at the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail.
