Onondaga County Legislator and former Skaneateles School Board member Julie Abbott-Kenan returned to her seat in the legislature chamber today for the first time since she was charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief following a dispute with her husband.
“I’m back,” she said. “I haven’t skipped a beat.”
She said the criminal charge will not deter her from serving on the legislature, which she described as “my calling.”
Abbott-Kenan, 46, of 7 Tallcot Lane, Skaneateles, was charged with criminal mischief Nov. 18 for allegedly taking a metal baseball bat to her husband’s pickup truck during an argument at their lakeside house. She is due in Skaneateles town court Wednesday.
