Auburn man arrested on felony charges after crash, brandishing knife

An Auburn man was arrested on multiple charges following a car crash in Auburn on Tuesday.

The crash occurred shortly after 4 p.m. at the corner of Holley and Seymour streets; and then one of the men displayed a knife following the crash.

Police say that Emmanuel L. Walls Sr., 34, allegedly displayed a weapon during the incident. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.

Deputy Police Chief Roger Anthony told The Citizen that an ‘off duty law enforcement officer’ was on-scene at the time of the crash and diffused the situation by giving commands until police could arrive.

Police said the crash was occurred after a vehicle failed to stop for a sign at the corner of Holley and Seymour. That vehicle collided with another.

Walls was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class D felony; first-degree criminal contempt, a Class E felony; second-degree menacing; driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation, and several traffic citations.

The investigation remains active.
