A report by the Democrat & Chronicle suggests that toll increases along the New York State Thruway could be coming soon.
The timing comes as the Thruway Authority moves forward with cashless tolling, which is expected to ‘go live’ this upcoming year.
The uncertainly could be troublesome for the Thruway’s bond rating and its costs to borrow for road repairs, according to a report earlier this month from Moody’s Investors Service, which was outlined by the D&C.
Moody’s suggested that toll increases would likely be necessary by 2022.
