Ithaca man arrested after holding girlfriend against her will

The Ithaca Police Department has issued a press release regarding the arrest of an Ithaca man on weapons and harassment charges after an incident last week.

According to the press release, just after 1 p.m. on July 31, police state that several officers responded to a location on North Cayuga Street after reports of a woman being threatened with a gun by her boyfriend. After arriving at the location, police found both the victim and her boyfriend, identified as Jon Ross, 36, of Ithaca.

“The victim reported that Ross held her against her will, threatened her with guns, and subjected her to unwanted physical contact for an extended period of time,” the statement said. “Further investigation revealed that Ross was in possession of numerous firearms, ammunition, and other weapons inside his residence.”
