Deputies report that a 19-year-old Hector resident admitted to using his cellphone and drinking alcohol at a friend’s house before a crash in the Town of Catherine last week.

On Thursday, Kameron Edminister, 19, of Hector admitted to drinking and driving; and also using his cellphone while driving on Newtown Road in Catherine.

He left the roadway and collided with a fence. Deputies say that he was unable to pass field sobriety tests at the scene.
