Dwyer seeking fifth term as Cayuga County clerk

Cayuga County Clerk Sue Dwyer formally kicked off her campaign for a fifth term in office at a ceremony Thursday evening attended by many prominent local Republicans.

At the Carriage House Theater in Auburn, Dwyer, flanked by her granddaughters while on the podium, thanked an array of supporters that had helped her win previous elections and that she hoped would help again.

In particular, Dwyer thanked her family, who she said was “the center of her world,” and the dedicated help of the staff at the clerk’s office and DMV.

“It’s truly been an amazing experience and a great honor to be your county clerk for the past 15 years,” Dwyer said.

Multiple regional and local Republicans came to show their support, including Assemblymen Gary Finch, R-Springport and Brian Manktelow, R-Lyons; current and former Cayuga County Sheriffs Brian Schenck and David Gould, and multiple county legislators.
