This season, Bristol Mountain opened its new freestyle aerial training center.
The U.S. Elite Aerial Development Team has been training this week at the mountain's High Point Terrain Park.
Patrick O'Flynn, a member of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team Freestyle Aerial team and a native of Penfield, learned to ski at Bristol every Saturday and Sunday.
"Kind of a dream come true to come back home," O'Flynn said. "Get to take some jumps with other Americans. The last time here was with the Chinese team. I always say I wanted to do aerials at home, so it's a good opportunity to do so."
Bristol Mountain is one of only three sites in the U.S. where spectators can ski right up to the training site and watch the athletes train when sessions are in progress.
