Waterloo girls varsity head coach Michael Bree said Wednesday night’s Finger Lakes East match-up with visiting Geneva was a “great battle”. His Lady Indians trailed 28-27 at halftime but pulled even at 47-47 with just 1:30 left in the game. Then, Geneva freshman Aniya Rowe hit a three pointer to give Geneva the lead for good as the Panthers won their 7th straight game, 55-50. In the 3rd quarter, Geneva senior Lauren DeVaney scored her 1,000th career point before finishing with 20 points and 13 rebounds. China Aimes added 16 key points for Geneva who improved to 11-6.

Also in girls action, Midlakes clinches at least a share of the East title with a win at Wayne after Mynderse shocked Pal-Mac in overtime handing the Red Raiders their second straight loss.
The most entertaining game of the night came out of Bloomfield where the Bombers were playing their final regular season home game on Senior Night against Finger Lakes West rival Naples. The Bombers trailed by as many as 12 points early in the fourth quarter before Tanner Kimball caught fire and finally pulled his team ahead with an elbow jumper with 9 seconds remaining. On the ensuing defensive possesion, Kimball drew a charge on Naples leading scorer Cole Rathbun and Alex Roach would ice a 62-58 win with a pair of free throws. Kimball would finish with 27 points and was a perfect 8-8- from the charity stripe.
