A new traffic garden at Casey Park is complete, giving Auburn children of all abilities a place to practice bicycle and road safety skills.
The city of Auburn announced the completion and shared photographs of a celebration with Cayuga County officials. The project repurposed the old skate park beside the newer skate park.
The traffic garden creates a place for children to learn how to navigate streets and practice riding skills in a park setting. The city described the project as accessible to children of all abilities.
Casey Park is at 150 N. Division St. The project was developed by the city, the Cayuga County Health Department and New York’s Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs program, according to the earlier opening announcement.
That announcement identified funding through the New York State Department of Health using federal Health Resources and Services Administration Title V money.
