Rocco J. Pietropaolo, Sr., age 95, passed away unexpectedly, on Friday, September 18, 2026. He is survived by four children, Mark (Susan) Pietropaolo, Cindy (Guy) Parker, Rocco J. “RJ” Pietropaolo, Jr. and Kathy (Tom) Woodhams; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Josephine Spencer; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Meenan) Pietropaolo in 2023; and three siblings, James Pietropaolo, Margaret Canali and Theresa Lacagnato.
Rocco was born in Canandaigua and was the son of Salvatore and Santina (Campagna) Pietropaolo. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s School and Canandaigua Academy. Rocco earned a bachelor’s degree from Gannon University. He worked as a Wealth Advisor his entire career. Rocco and his family also owned and operated Sam’s on the Corner in Canandaigua. He was a life member of St. Mary’s Church, an active member of the Canandaigua Rotary Club, Canandaigua Country Club and Sonnenberg Gardens. Rocco enjoyed golfing, skiing, boating on Canandaigua Lake, playing cards, gardening and caring for his lawn.
Rocco, family and friends took many trips to Mont-Tremblant in Quebec for skiing and golfing, where he was affectionately known as the “Honorary Mayor of Mont-Tremblant”. The most important thing to Rocco was spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Friends may call Thursday, September 24, from 4-7pm, at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. His funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, September 25, at 11am, at St. Mary’s Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Canandaigua.
