Families helping students with disabilities prepare for adulthood can learn how to connect with services during a free online session Nov. 9.
The CNY Regional Interagency Technical Assistance Team is offering Agency 101 Abridged with the Mid-State Family and Community Engagement Center, according to a notice shared by the Cayuga County Health Department.
The Zoom session runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday and is intended for families, educators and community agencies supporting students ages 14 to 22.
Presenters will explain eligibility, available services and when to begin referrals. Participants also will be able to ask questions and connect with agencies that support employment, independent living and other needs after school.
The program covers the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities; Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation; the New York State Commission for the Blind; workforce development; the Office of Mental Health; independent living centers; and college services.
Families Together in New York State, Youth Power! and peer services also are included in the program.

The session will not be recorded. Questions can be sent to midstatefacecenter@syr.edu.
