Domestic violence and crime victim assistance programs across New York are cutting services because of delayed state funding, according to Spectrum News.
The Crime Victims Assistance Center in Broome County has eliminated five positions after receiving a grant award $750,000 below what officials say is needed to maintain operations.
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced $36 million in additional statewide funding in August, but organizations say the money remains unavailable because of procurement appeals.
The state Office of Victim Services said it is working with the comptroller’s office to complete the review and limit additional delays.
