Syracuse football hits the road Saturday to face North Carolina in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, with the game airing on ACC Network.
The Orange enter the matchup at 2-4 overall and 0-4 in conference play following a 34-26 loss to Louisville. The Tar Heels are 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the ACC after defeating Duke, 24-20, for their second consecutive victory.
Syracuse will look to snap a two-game losing streak and secure its first conference victory of the season, while North Carolina looks to build on consecutive wins over Pittsburgh and Duke.
Wide receiver Umari Hatcher continues to lead Syracuse’s offense after recording 13 receptions for 224 yards against Louisville. Hatcher has surpassed 100 receiving yards in three straight games and leads the nation with 8.33 receptions per game. He also ranks third nationally with an average of 130.7 receiving yards per game.
North Carolina presents a challenge through the air, having allowed just two opposing receivers to surpass 80 receiving yards in a game this season.
Syracuse has dealt with injuries at quarterback, with three different players starting through six games. Despite the changes, the Orange rank 12th nationally in passing offense and are the only team in the country to have three different quarterbacks throw for at least 300 yards in a game this season.
The Orange have also produced a 100-yard rusher in four of their first six games. Ahmad Miller became the latest to reach that mark, rushing for 123 yards on 18 carries against Louisville.
Saturday marks the ninth all-time meeting between Syracuse and North Carolina, with the Tar Heels holding a 5-3 advantage in the series.
