Newark trustees will consider action on unpaid 2026 taxes and a request from Runaway Blue Brewing Company to host food trucks in a village parking lot when they meet Tuesday, Oct. 20.
The regular session begins at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building's second-floor courtroom, according to the village's agenda. Other proposals include accepting a public works foreman's resignation, declaring four vehicles surplus and approving floodplain-development training.
Tax relevy and brewery anniversary request
The clerk-treasurer's portion of the meeting includes consideration of the 2026 delinquent-tax relevy.
Runaway Blue Brewing Company is seeking permission to use the village parking lot behind 102 S. Main St. on Nov. 13, 14 and 15. Food trucks would be part of the company's fourth-anniversary celebration.
The consent agenda includes minutes from the Sept. 22 regular board meeting and Oct. 6 special meeting, along with October payment approvals and November vouchers. The board also will acknowledge receipt of monthly reports.
Public works resignation and surplus vehicles
Trustees will consider accepting Doug Townsend's resignation as working foreman in the Department of Public Works, effective Oct. 31.
They also will consider declaring four vehicles surplus: a 1998 International, a 2012 Ford E250 cargo van, a 2017 Ford Transit Connect van and a 2003 Ford F550 dump truck.
Another request would allow Matthew Bouwens to attend Managing Floodplain Development training in Oriskany from Nov. 16 through Nov. 19 at no cost.
Updates and concerns from the fire chief, code enforcement officer, economic development, legal counsel, police chief and trustees are also on the agenda.
The public-comment portion allows three minutes per person or subject. An executive session is listed before adjournment.
The next regularly scheduled Village Board meeting is Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m.
