Survey crews gather data for drainage improvements on Waterloo’s east side

Survey crews are gathering field information to help design drainage improvements on the east side of the village of Waterloo. Site visits could continue intermittently over the next few months, according to a village update.

Subcontractors, surveyors and others involved in the project will visit areas on and around Mechanic, East Elizabeth, East Elisha, East Williams, Clark and Water streets, as well as state Routes 5 and 20.

The village said exact dates for the visits and investigations have not been determined. The work may not be continuous, but it will take place on weekdays only; no investigations or data collection are planned for weekends.

Residents who see wooden stakes with pink flags should leave them in place and work around them, the village said.

The markers are important to collecting the field data and will be used as the drainage improvements are designed.

Residents with questions should contact the village offices.
