Seneca Lake webinar to explore how plants can help protect water quality

Shoreline vegetation and floating wetlands will be the focus of a free Seneca Lake water-quality webinar at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22. The Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association is hosting “The Power of Plants” as part of its Deep Dive series for shoreline property owners and others concerned about the lake, with free registration available on the association's website.

Kelly Smith, an Elmira College associate professor of environmental science and a Pure Waters board member, will explain how plants along the shore and on floating wetlands can help reduce nutrient pollution, according to the association's event page.
