A Penn Yan man was jailed without bail after his arrest in a burglary investigation involving a stolen television and a damaged camera system.
Penn Yan police arrested Kristofer Jeffers, 46, on Oct. 4 after investigating a report of an intruder at a village residence.
Police said the intruder was known to the victim and fled before officers arrived.
Investigators identified Jeffers as the suspect, and officers saw him walking past the residence while they were still at the scene.
They took him into custody and transported him to the Penn Yan Police Department.
Police said Jeffers had entered the home through a window, damaged a camera system and stolen a television before fleeing.
He was charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony; two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny, class A misdemeanors; and two counts of criminal tampering.
Jeffers was arraigned at Yates County CAP Court and remanded to the Yates County Jail without bail because of four prior felony convictions, police said.
