A three-alarm fire early Sunday forced apartment evacuations in a downtown Canandaigua building housing Latitude 43 Table & Rooftop.
Firefighters responded to 5 Beeman St. around 2:47 a.m. after a report of smoke coming from an apartment.
Crews encountered heavy smoke, including on the second floor, and called second and third alarms, the outlet reported.
The four-story masonry building contains ground-floor commercial space and apartments above. Several apartments were evacuated, but no injuries were reported.
Victor Fire Department said it was dispatched around 2:45 a.m. to assist Canandaigua firefighters at a third-alarm commercial fire.
Other mutual-aid departments included Veterans Affairs, Bristol, Cheshire, Crystal Beach, Farmington, Hopewell and Mancheste.
Assistance was also offered by code enforcement, ambulance crews, county emergency officials, utilities, the American Red Cross and city Public Works.
The cause remained under investigation in the outlet’s Sunday morning report.
