A tractor-trailer fire at VanOstrand Road and Buck Road in Lansing left a fuel spill that the state Department of Environmental Conservation is working to mitigate, according to the Lansing Fire Department.
Firefighters found the truck engulfed in flames and producing thick black smoke when they arrived, the department said in a public Facebook update.
Crews worked to bring the fire under control and protect the surrounding area.
The Groton Fire Department assisted Lansing firefighters at the scene.
The department's update did not provide the cause of the fire, an injury report or the amount of fuel spilled.
Lansing firefighters asked the public to give emergency responders room to work as agencies manage the incident and its aftermath.
