The Buffalo Bills head to Los Angeles on Monday night looking to get back on track after a costly 29-26 loss to the New England Patriots dropped them into a tighter race in the AFC East. Kickoff against the Rams is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. at SoFi Stadium, with the game airing on ESPN.
Buffalo has dropped its level of play over the past two weeks, committing seven turnovers and 15 penalties while allowing 753 total yards and 46 first downs. The Bills will face a significant test against a Los Angeles team coming off a 24-20 comeback victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, fueled by Matthew Stafford’s 317 passing yards and two late touchdown runs by Kyren Williams.
Stafford and his receiving targets, Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, present a difficult challenge for a Buffalo secondary that has struggled to consistently contain opposing passing attacks. The Bills need their pass rush and coverage to work together to limit explosive plays and force Los Angeles to settle for field goals.
After putting up 77 points in its first two games, Buffalo’s offense has scored just 50 over the past two weeks, highlighting its recent struggles with turnovers and penalties. Getting James Cook established on the ground and giving Josh Allen better protection will be crucial against a Rams defense that ranks among the league’s best.
The matchup also carries early-season significance in the division race. If Buffalo loses and New England defeats the Las Vegas Raiders, the Patriots would move into first place in the AFC East.
