Man on mobility scooter airlifted after concrete truck strikes him in Auburn

A man using a mobility scooter was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse after a concrete truck struck him Wednesday morning in Auburn.

The collision occurred about 9:30 a.m. Oct. 7 at Genesee Street and Lexington Avenue on the city’s west end. The man was crossing Genesee Street in a crosswalk when he was struck.


The Auburn Fire Department said the man was in stable condition. Firefighters described him as an older adult but did not provide his name or age.

The truck belongs to Vitale Concrete in Sennett.

Auburn police, firefighters and Auburn City Ambulance responded to the scene.
