Wolcott man charged with unlawful imprisonment after domestic incident

A Wolcott man was charged with three counts of second-degree unlawful imprisonment after state police said he repeatedly blocked a woman from leaving and seeking help during a domestic incident.

Troopers arrested Allen James Harper, 55, on Sept. 27. They allege he drove his truck in front of the woman as she walked, then approached her, grabbed both of her hands and prevented her from leaving.

After the woman got away on foot, Harper stopped her two more times and prevented her from getting help, according to state police.

Harper was taken to the Wayne County Jail for centralized arraignment and released on his own recognizance.

He was scheduled to appear in Wolcott Village Court on Oct. 1; the outcome of that appearance was not available. The charges are allegations.
