Seneca County evergreen workshop set for Nov. 21

Seneca County residents can make a wreath, swag or centerpiece from fresh greens at a Nov. 21 workshop in Seneca Falls, according to Cornell Cooperative Extension of Seneca County's event notice.

The annual Evergreens Workshop will have morning and afternoon sessions at Vince's Park, 2952 State Route 318, on Nov. 21.

Participants choose a 9 to 11 a.m. or 1 to 3 p.m. session and make one project with guidance from Extension's Master Gardener volunteers. The cost is $30 per person and includes the materials for a wreath, swag or centerpiece. A separate Oct. 5 news release says participants may add an Osage orange kissing ball project for $5.

The workshop is open to all ages, but Extension asks an adult to stay and work with children younger than 13. Gloves and pruners will be available; participants may also bring their own.

Registration is required by Monday, Nov. 16, so organizers can prepare enough supplies. Space is limited. Participants can register online through Cornell Cooperative Extension or call 315-539-9251 if they do not have internet access.

Tricia Carvalho, an Extension horticulture educator, is the contact for questions about the workshop at 315-539-9251, ext. 1010. The event page lists Vince's Park near the junction of Route 318 and Routes 5 and 20 in Seneca Falls.
