National Grid is expanding electrical and gas infrastructure to serve Micron’s semiconductor complex in Clay, according to CNY Central.
The work includes eight high-voltage transmission lines, with two planned for each of Micron’s four fabrication plants.
National Grid also plans a 2-mile gas pipeline to the site and an expansion of its nearby substation by about seven acres.
The substation expansion is intended to support the first two plants, while ducts will carry power beneath Caughdenoy Road to the Micron campus.
Construction on the final two plants is expected to begin in 2028.
