Ontario County warns of recalled children’s busy boards over lead hazard

Ontario County Public Health is alerting families to a recall involving about 1,835 children’s busy boards after federal regulators found excessive levels of lead in part of the toys.

SQT recalled Lontcs Busy Boards because the brown zipper contains lead levels exceeding the federal lead paint limit, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Lead is toxic when ingested by young children and can cause serious health problems.

The CPSC announced the recall Sept. 10. No incidents or injuries have been reported.

The recalled busy boards were sold on Amazon from May 2024 through July 2026 for about $31.

The wooden activity boards have a metal handle and several attached components, including a black plastic buckle with cream-colored straps, brown zipper, metal latch, caster wheel, white doorbell, lock and keys, music box, duck puzzle, three-row abacus and white fidget spinner.

What parents should do

Consumers should stop using the busy boards immediately and contact SQT for a full refund.

To receive a refund, consumers will be asked to disassemble the toy by unscrewing its components, write “RECALLED” on the board with permanent marker and email the company a photograph showing the destroyed toy. The product should then be discarded.

SQT can be contacted by email at Lontcs@163.com.

The toys were manufactured in China and sold under the Lontcs name. The CPSC lists the recall as No. 26-753.

Ontario County Public Health shared the federal recall notice this week, urging residents with the product to stop using it immediately.
