A Lyons woman was charged Thursday after she allegedly shoved a Wayne County sheriff's deputy who was investigating a domestic incident, the Sheriff's Office said.
Hailey Simpson, 24, was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and second-degree harassment. The Sheriff's Office said the incident happened Oct. 1 at a residence in Lyons separate from the location of the original domestic call.
Deputies said Simpson was told to stop yelling and go inside the residence to separate the people involved. After going inside, she allegedly shoved a uniformed deputy in an attempt to make him leave while he continued the investigation.
The release does not identify the other person involved in the domestic incident or report an injury to the deputy. It does not say Simpson was charged in connection with the underlying domestic call.
Simpson was taken to the Sheriff's Office for processing and then to the Wayne County Jail for fingerprints and photographs. She was released with an appearance ticket for Lyons Town Court; the release did not give a court date.
