Within Thompson Health, those in the Associate Service Department know exactly what they’re looking for when it comes to hiring. They value people who are adaptable, communicate well, support their colleagues, and remain focused on doing what is best for the patient or resident.

Wilkins and others within Thompson are preparing to host their next Job Fair. It’s from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at F.F. Thompson Hospital, 350 Parrish St. in Canandaigua.
Hiring managers will conduct on-site interviews during the event. Clinical and non-clinical opportunities are available at the hospital, the adjacent nursing home, and throughout the health system, with registered nurses among Thompson’s highest recruitment priorities.
“We are continuously growing and that need remains consistent,” Wilkins said.
With locations in three counties, Thompson is Ontario County’s largest employer and is on the 2026 “Top 165 Places to Work in Healthcare” list published by Becker’s Hospital Review. Thompson also received the Gold Bell Seal for Workplace Mental Health from Mental Health America and a silver Well Workplace Award from the Wellness Alliance. In addition, the hospital holds Magnet® recognition for nursing excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Wilkins first joined the health system in 2025 and said he has found a strong sense of community.

People genuinely know one another, care about the work they do, and understand the impact they have on our patients and community,” he said. “I’ve also been impressed by the organization’s willingness to listen to associates and continually look for ways to improve their experience.”
The Sept. 30 Job Fair will take place in the cafeteria, located on the ground floor of the hospital’s Constellation Center for Health and Healing. Arrive via The Thompson Way, the entrance off West Street.
Wilkins is optimistic about finding new team members who will be a good fit.
“Our job fairs have been successful for us,” he said. “They give candidates the chance to move beyond an online application and have a real conversation with our recruiters and department leaders.”
