Conquest man charged after domestic incident involving children

A Conquest man faces two child-endangerment charges after deputies said he threatened and chased two juveniles during a domestic incident.

The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office said deputies arrested Eric J. Cornue, 38, at about 9:38 p.m. September 7, a day after responding to an unknown-trouble call in the town of Conquest.

Deputies were called to the address at about 8:26 p.m. September 6 and determined that Cornue had been involved in a physical domestic incident with a woman in the presence of two children under 17, according to the sheriff's office.

Investigators said Cornue chased and threatened the juveniles before leaving the scene ahead of deputies' arrival.

A deputy sought an arrest warrant, and Cornue was located and taken into custody the following night, the sheriff's office said.

Cornue was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, both class A misdemeanors.

He was brought to centralized arraignment, where an order of protection was issued, and released with a future appearance in Conquest Town Court.
