Registration is open for the annual Greater Cayuga Nonprofit Summit, a daylong event for nonprofit leaders and staff scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8, in Skaneateles Falls.
The summit will run from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at The Lodge at Welch Allyn, 4355 State St. United Way of Cayuga County and Catalyst Cayuga are organizing the event.
Registration costs $50 and includes access to workshops, roundtable discussions and a vendor fair. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and beverages are also included in the registration fee, according to the United Way's announcement.
This year's workshops will cover artificial intelligence, partnership building, employee recruitment and other topics related to nonprofit operations. Organizers describe the summit as an opportunity for learning, networking and strengthening organizations' capacity.
The keynote portion will take the form of a panel discussion about what capacity building means for nonprofit organizations, the needs those groups face and possible solutions. Daniel Fessenden, executive director of the Fred L. Emerson Foundation, will moderate the discussion.
Panelists will include Lisa Kaminski, executive director of United Way of Cayuga County; Jenny VerNooy, executive director of Catalyst Cayuga; and Katie Fong, Cayuga director at Causewave Community Partners.
Organizers are also seeking businesses and organizations to participate as vendors or sponsors. Opportunities range from $200 to $3,000 and include tickets to the summit, though the announcement did not list the number of tickets included at each level.
The vendor fair is intended for businesses that offer products, services or employee benefits used by nonprofit organizations. Organizers said it will provide a chance to speak directly with nonprofit decision-makers during the event.
