A Lansing man suffered a severe abdominal wound Monday morning after telling deputies he accidentally stabbed himself while falling down a flight of stairs, according to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office.
Thomas A. Henry, 24, of the Lansing Grove apartment complex on Graham Road, was found with the wound after deputies responded shortly before 11:30 a.m. to a reported stabbing.
Henry told investigators he had accidentally stabbed himself during the fall. Deputies said they found no evidence of foul play.
Henry was transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for emergency treatment.
During the investigation, deputies learned Henry was also wanted on an outstanding New York State Parole warrant for an alleged parole violation in Syracuse. Parole officials were notified of the incident and Henry’s location.
Bangs Ambulance and Lansing Fire & Emergency Medical Services also responded.
