Canandaigua police reported five driving-while-intoxicated arrests and several other cases involving alleged interference with officers, trespassing, theft and harassment between Aug. 15 and Aug. 26.
The department's Sept. 1 blotter includes 13 arrest or summons events. The charges are accusations, and the listed cases are pending in court.
Five drivers face DWI charges
Kaylee L. Ladisair, 35, of Rushville, was charged with driving while intoxicated after police responded to a crash on Lakeshore Drive at 1:43 a.m. Aug. 16. Police alleged Ladisair was intoxicated when her vehicle struck a curb, causing a tire to separate from the axle. She was released to a third party with an appearance ticket for Canandaigua City Court.
Rebekah I. Mott, 42, of Canandaigua, was charged with DWI after police received a report of a sick or intoxicated driver on West Avenue at 10:50 p.m. Aug. 20. Officers found Mott in a vehicle at a West Avenue business and said she showed signs of intoxication; police also reported finding open alcoholic-beverage containers in the vehicle. Mott was released to a third party with an appearance ticket.
David G. Abramowski, 39, of Mount Sinai, was charged with DWI after a traffic stop on South Main Street at 1:14 a.m. Aug. 22. Police said his vehicle had been traveling the wrong way on a one-way section of Phoenix Street and that he showed signs of intoxication. Abramowski was taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
Cynthia J. Ras, 32, of Rochester, was charged with DWI after a traffic stop in the City Hall parking lot at 11:18 p.m. Aug. 22. Police alleged she had driven on a sidewalk and showed signs of intoxication. Ras was taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
Todd G. Everts, 25, of Canandaigua, was charged with DWI following a South Main Street traffic stop at 10:50 p.m. Aug. 26. Police said his vehicle was seen traveling the wrong way after leaving the City Pier and that he showed signs of intoxication. Everts was released to a third party with an appearance ticket.
Three cases involve alleged interference or resistance
Jason D. McMillin, 25, of Clifton Springs, was charged with two counts of obstructing governmental administration after a Lakeshore Drive traffic stop at 12:41 a.m. Aug. 15. Police alleged McMillin approached officers investigating a traffic violation, refused requests to leave and tried to initiate a physical confrontation. Officers said he later refused to be fingerprinted or photographed, and he was taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
Ponell E. Kittles, 37, of Canandaigua, was charged with resisting arrest, two counts of obstructing governmental administration and smoking in a park at 5:39 p.m. Aug. 16. Police said an officer saw Kittles smoking marijuana in Lagoon Park and that he refused to provide identification, tried to walk away after being detained and physically resisted arrest. Police said Kittles also refused fingerprinting and a photograph before being taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
Phillip R. Schmidt, 32, of Canandaigua, was charged with third-degree criminal trespass, obstructing governmental administration and having an open container after police responded to a suspicious-person report at Evans Field on Fort Hill Avenue at 8:27 p.m. Aug. 17. Officers said Schmidt was found in the attic of a garage, tried to shut the access hatch and pulled away as they attempted to take him into custody. Police also alleged he possessed an open alcoholic-beverage container. Schmidt was released with an appearance ticket.
Warrant, theft, harassment and trespass cases reported
Alyna A. Lindenau, 32, was arrested on a bench warrant at 6:32 p.m. Aug. 18. Police said the warrant was issued after she failed to appear in court on an earlier arrest. Lindenau was taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
Cynthia Karekos, 63, of Canandaigua, was charged with petit larceny at 7:39 p.m. Aug. 19 following a theft report at a North Main Street business. Police alleged Karekos stole merchandise from the store and arrested her on Seneca Drive. She was released with an appearance ticket for Canandaigua City Court.
Callie Nichols, 40, of Canandaigua, was served with a criminal summons for second-degree harassment at 4:48 a.m. Aug. 20. Police alleged Nichols shoved another person. She is due in Canandaigua City Court at a later date.
Jason Ward, 36, of Canandaigua, was charged twice with trespass on Aug. 23. Police said he was found panhandling at a South Main Street business at 3:42 a.m. after previously being barred from the property, then was arrested again at 3:23 p.m. at an Eastern Boulevard business after being barred from that location earlier the same morning. Ward was released with an appearance ticket after each arrest.
