A Waterloo man faces a first-degree weapons possession charge after Seneca County sheriff's investigators said they found him with 24 assault weapons and suppressors he was not legally allowed to possess.
The Seneca County Sheriff's Office said investigators arrested 32-year-old Benjamin T. Vasquez at about 12:25 p.m. Aug. 27 following an investigation into illegal firearms possession.
Vasquez was held for arraignment in centralized arraignment court and later posted bail, according to the sheriff's office.
He is scheduled to return to Waterloo Town Court at a later date.
