Two Lyons residents face obstruction charges after Wayne County sheriff's deputies said a traffic stop involving an e-bike led to a confrontation Tuesday night.
Deputies attempted to stop two people riding together on a single e-bike near Broad and Jackson streets in the town of Lyons around 9:37 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. The riders fled the area, deputies said.
The sheriff's office alleged Jessica R. Desius and Contrell J. Parker, both of Maple Street, physically tried to take the e-bike from police custody during the investigation.
Desius was charged with one count of second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Parker was charged with two counts of second-degree obstructing governmental administration.
Both were issued appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date.
