A Penn Yan man faces several charges following an investigation into a May incident involving an altercation and an occupied vehicle.
Patrick J. Meland, 31, of Penn Yan, was arrested after police said he got into an altercation with two people, unlawfully entered their vehicle and refused repeated requests to get out.
Police said Meland then rummaged through the vehicle’s center console and allegedly stole two vapes.
He also allegedly subjected one of the complainants to unwanted physical contact.
Meland later turned himself in and was charged with petit larceny, criminal tampering, trespass and two counts of second-degree harassment.
He was issued appearance tickets and released to appear in court at a later date.
