Small-business owners can sign up for three hands-on artificial intelligence workshops in the Corning Room at Keuka College beginning Oct. 28, with sessions covering basic use, daily operations and practical applications.
The Yates County Chamber of Commerce said its “AI for Small Business: From First Steps to Everyday Use” series will be led by the FLX AI Hub at Finger Lakes Community College. Coach & Equipment is sponsoring the program.
Each session runs from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The first, on Wednesday, Oct. 28, will cover AI basics, prompting, bias and ethics, with hands-on activities.
The second session, Friday, Nov. 6, will focus on tools that small businesses can use in daily operations and workflows. The chamber's program page lists ChatGPT, Claude, Canva, NotebookLM and chatbots among the tools participants may explore. The final workshop, Wednesday, Nov. 18, will address best practices, real-world applications and participants' questions.
One registration covers all three sessions and costs $75 for chamber members or $95 for nonmembers, plus a 30-cent credit-card fee. Chamber membership is not required. Participants should bring a laptop and have access to an AI platform. A paid subscription is required for the second and third sessions, though some platforms offer free trials. The chamber cautions that Copilot subscriptions may have limitations that prevent full participation.
Registration and additional information are available through the chamber's Growth Series page. Questions can also be directed to the chamber at 315-536-3111.
