Keith Tidball has resigned from the Fayette Town Board, and Isaiah Winter has been appointed to fill the vacancy, according to the Finger Lakes Times.
Town Supervisor Jeff Trout said Tidball stepped down after retiring from Cornell and taking a private-sector leadership position that made it difficult to continue meeting his town obligations.
Winter previously served as an alternate on the town Planning Board and works in the agricultural sector.
Tidball had joined the Town Board in 2022 and was later elected to a four-year term.
The board also rescinded a land-use moratorium after adopting new regulations developed in response to a court decision and public concerns.
