Beaver Dams man charged after child welfare complaint in Dix

A Beaver Dams man was arrested after a complaint in the town of Dix led to charges including menacing and endangering the welfare of a child, according to the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office.

Hunter J. Sornberger, 21, was charged with second-degree menacing, second-degree criminal nuisance and endangering the welfare of a child.

Deputies said the arrest followed a complaint July 19 on County Road 19.

The Sheriff’s Office did not release additional details about the incident, including what allegedly led to the menacing charge or how a child was involved.

Sornberger was arraigned in Schuyler County centralized arraignment court and released to appear in Dix Town Court at a later date.
