A major infrastructure upgrade is coming to the Town of Dix with help from federal funding.
Congressman Nick Langworthy announced he secured $1 million to support a water and sewer service expansion aimed at improving reliability and opening the door to future growth.
The funding will extend and loop municipal water and sewer lines to better serve existing homes and businesses. The project will also make more than 350 acres available for future housing and commercial development.
“Investing in core infrastructure like water and sewer systems is essential to supporting growth and improving quality of life in our communities,” Langworthy said. “I was proud to secure this $1 million investment for the Town of Dix.”
Town officials say the project will help address seasonal pressure and treatment challenges that affect the current system. The expansion is designed to improve water quality and overall reliability.
By increasing service capacity, the project positions the town for responsible residential and commercial growth. Leaders say the investment could strengthen the local tax base and support long-term economic vitality across the region.
