A Venice man was charged with driving while intoxicated after a motorcycle crash in the town of Genoa, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies arrested William T. Haskell, 68, at about 6:29 p.m. July 31 after responding to a report of a motorcycle in a ditch near state Route 90 and East Venice Road.
The sheriff's office said the motorcycle operator had left before a deputy arrived but returned with a tractor and tried to pull the motorcycle from the ditch. Deputies allege Haskell had operated the motorcycle while intoxicated.
Haskell allegedly resisted when the deputy tried to arrest him and obstructed the investigation, the sheriff's office said. He later provided a breath sample showing a blood alcohol content of 0.11%.
Haskell was charged with two counts of DWI, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration. He was issued tickets requiring him to appear in Genoa Town Court at 7 p.m. Aug. 18.
