A Port Byron woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after Cayuga County sheriff's deputies responded to a reckless driving complaint July 22.
Deputies said they found Stephanie L. Chetney, 43, driving in the Port Byron area at about 6:20 p.m. and stopped her after observing multiple traffic violations.
The sheriff's office said Chetney failed field sobriety tests and later provided a breath sample showing a blood alcohol content of 0.09%.
Chetney was charged with two counts of DWI, including operating with a blood alcohol content of 0.08% or higher. She also was cited for having an open alcohol container in a vehicle, speeding, moving from a lane unsafely and failing to stop at a stop sign.
She was released on traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in Mentz Town Court at 6 p.m. Aug. 17.
