The New York League of Conservation Voters endorsed Gov. Kathy Hochul's reelection campaign Thursday, citing her record on climate action and environmental protection.
League President Julie Tighe said Hochul had supported investments in the Environmental Protection Fund and clean water infrastructure while advancing clean energy and building decarbonization programs.
Tighe also credited the governor with working to establish a framework for responsible data center development. She said state leadership on environmental issues is especially important as federal protections face challenges.
Hochul said she was honored to receive the endorsement and described the league as a partner on environmental and public health reforms. She pointed to work involving offshore wind and safeguards for water and natural resources as New York develops policies for data centers.
The governor said she plans to continue working with the organization to expand renewable energy, reduce pollution and lower energy bills.
