Bruce Blakeman’s campaign omitted or understated more than $1.8 million in transactions in its public financial disclosures, according to New York Focus.
The outlet’s review of bank statements identified more than $1.3 million in undisclosed spending and $518,500 in contributions or transfers missing or understated in filings.
Among the discrepancies were a $1.15 million payment to polling firm McLaughlin & Associates and two transfers totaling $436,000 from the Nassau County Republican Committee.
Campaign spokesperson Madison Spanodemos did not answer the outlet’s specific questions about the discrepancies, while aides have previously blamed reporting errors on the state’s online filing system.
Blakeman’s campaign will face a postelection audit along with other statewide campaigns participating in New York’s public matching funds program.
