Tompkins County's America 250 programming is mixing holiday events with local history projects, according to 14850. The county received $15,000 through New York's America 250 initiative.
The local calendar includes community festivals, storytelling, family activities, historic demonstrations and a planned White Pine of Peace project at Stewart Park.
Freeville is scheduled to hold a July 4 celebration at the fire department on Union Street. Other holiday weekend events include activities near Taughannock Falls, Trumansburg and Interlaken.
