Looking to add a new companion to your home?
Each week, FingerLakes1.com partners with the Humane Society of Yates County to highlight local animals in need of a loving home. This week’s featured pets offer two strong personalities — one confident feline who wants to rule the house, and one smart, energetic dog looking for an active home where she can be the center of attention.

Kooper
A sweet, 7-8-year-old neutered Chihuahua mix weighing just 11.2 pounds. Once an emotional support companion, Kooper is now looking for someone to be his emotional support. This little gentleman came from a home with cats, so we believe he’s cat-friendly. If you’re searching for a loyal friend to share quiet days, short walks, and plenty of love, Kooper is ready to fill that role — and your heart.
Noleen
At 5 years old, Nolleen is a large-and-in-charge lady who runs life by her own rules. She loves attention when she’s in the mood, but expects her people to respect her boundaries when she’s ready for some space. Nolleen would prefer a home without other cats, though calm dogs may be acceptable. This confident queen is looking for an adult-only home where she can reign supreme.
