PETS OF THE WEEK: Meet Gia and Delanie!

Looking to add a new companion to your home?

Each week, FingerLakes1.com partners with the Humane Society of Yates County to highlight local animals in need of a loving home. This week’s featured pets offer two strong personalities — one confident feline who wants to rule the house, and one smart, energetic dog looking for an active home where she can be the center of attention.

The Humane Society of Yates County is also inviting the community to its annual ‘Not Your Average Car Show’ on Saturday, July 26, from 10:00–3:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Bulk Foods, 3173 State Route 14A, PennYan.

Enjoy an afternoon of classic and specialty vehicles, food, vendors, raffles, and family-friendly fun while supporting local homeless animals.

Spectator admission is free, and vehicle registration is by donation. Proceeds benefit the Humane Society’s lifesaving programs and the animals in its care.

For more information, check out their Facebook post on the event here.

Gia

Healed, healthy, and officially available! Gia is a special girl who literally loves life too much! She recently underwent surgery to have her tail docked due to a severe case of “happy tail”—meaning she wagged her tail so hard and fast against hard surfaces that she kept injuring it. Now fully healed, rocking a cute new bobtail look, and feeling better than ever, this resilient girl is officially ready for adoption! Gia is affectionate, happy-go-lucky, and ready to bring her signature joy (and safer wags!) to her new forever home.

Delanie

Delanie is a gorgeous 3-year-old girl with a calm, easygoing personality. She loves spending her days relaxing, soaking up affection from her favorite people, and playing whenever the mood strikes. Delanie would thrive in a quiet, laid-back home where she can enjoy life at her own pace and be a loving companion.

For more information or to meet these pets, visit the Humane Society of Yates County in Penn Yan or head to their website to begin the adoption process.
