Deputies said Garnette H. Erskin, 54, of Newark, Delaware, was traveling east in rainy conditions and failed to negotiate a turn on Route 14A.

The vehicle struck the south-side ditch, re-entered the roadway, crossed Route 230 and entered the south-side ditch again, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said Erskin suffered a head injury and was transported to Corning Hospital. The release described the incident as a motor vehicle crash with injuries.

Erskin was cited for speed not reasonable and prudent and moving from a lane unsafely, deputies said.

Dundee Fire Department, Dundee Ambulance and Yates County Ambulance assisted at the scene.
