A Bath man was arrested after police said he was involved in a physical fight outside a village hotel while a young child was present.
The incident happened June 17 at about 12:47 p.m. when Bath police were dispatched to the Old National Hotel at 13 E. Steuben St. for a report of a fight outside the building.
According to the Bath Police Department, officers determined two adult men had become involved in a physical altercation stemming from a property dispute.
Police said the fight occurred in the presence of a young child and that those involved showed no regard for the child’s safety during the incident.
Authorities said all parties involved were homeless and staying at the Old National Hotel through public assistance. Police noted the individuals had reported prior issues with one another at a previous placement.
Following an investigation, police identified Mandell I. Davis, 25, as the physical aggressor.
Davis was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation.
He was processed and arraigned in Bath Village Court before being released on his own recognizance.
