A trip along the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail can offer more than tastings this summer, as several wineries expand dining options ranging from lakeside bistros to food trucks and barbecue nights.
The trail’s organizers are encouraging visitors to explore food offerings available at wineries around the lake, making it easier to turn a wine-tasting excursion into a full-day or weekend getaway in the Finger Lakes.
At Sheldrake Point Winery, the Point of Flavor Bistro serves lunch Wednesday through Sunday and dinner Friday through Sunday, with Wednesday barbecue nights returning for the summer season. Thirsty Owl Wine Company also offers lunch service at its bistro Thursday through Monday, featuring dishes made with local ingredients and lake views.
Several other wineries have expanded food options for visitors. Montezuma Winery serves pizzas, paninis, sandwiches and charcuterie boards daily, while Buttonwood Grove Winery’s Between the Grove Food Truck opens for the season this weekend with sandwiches, salads and appetizers.
Food trucks will also be featured throughout the summer at Lucas Vineyards and Hosmer Winery, where rotating vendors will offer additional dining options during events and regular winery visits.
