Livingston County employees complete national leadership program

Two Livingston County employees have graduated from a national leadership development program designed to strengthen management and leadership skills in county government.

Probation Supervisors Michelle Jordan and Liz Laney recently completed the National Association of Counties High Performance Leadership Academy, a 12-week online professional development program focused on the challenges and opportunities facing local government leaders.

County officials said the academy’s curriculum was developed through a partnership involving business executives, public sector leaders, academics and other leadership experts. The program is intended to help participants build skills that can be applied in county government and public service.

Jordan and Laney said the experience reinforced the importance of lifelong learning, employee engagement and leading with empathy. Both also credited Livingston County Probation Director Lynne Mignemi for supporting their professional development. The county said the program is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership within its workforce.
